How to get Your Facebook Status RSS Feed!

OMG! So, I was wondering about this because I wanted to put a facebook update to this blog, hehehe. Since facebook took away the "mini-feed," it's been hell to find that rss feed. So I found a hack to get the Facebook Status Feed-- not notifications, not friends, but your status! Just like your Twitter status, but this is Facebook. Ah-ha! :)

You want your rss feed url to look like this:
http://www.facebook.com/feeds/notifications.php?id=xxxxxxxxx&viewer=xxxxxxxxx&key=xxxxxxxxxx&format=rss20

orange- your facebook id #
pink- your id key

So here's the deal... as of Nov. 17th, this is how it's done.
Blame Facebook for always changing their layouts.
There might be an easier way, but this method is as easy as it can be.
You can click on the images to enlarge them.

  1. Go to your "Notes" section on your Facebook.
  2. On the left-middle, you'll see "Subscribe - My Notes" & Click on that.
  3. It should be under your Profile Picture.
  4. You'll see a page like below.
  5. Your page should look like this, when you click "My Notes"
  6. Now look at the top url bar. Your url should look like:
  7. I've blocked out my Fb ID for my security.
  8. Replace the "notes" to "status" so it'll become "status.php"
  9. Notice the change of "notes" to "status"
  10. Once you've changed the url, you're good! That's your RSS Feed for your blog/website!

Facebook App - iPhone Talk! (Updated 11/15)

-----Update your new Facebook app 3.3.2 today- Nov. 15th. They fixed the "bug".
I don't know about you guys, but the new iPhone App for Facebook really blows. It doesn't even have the "upload" button for an existing album- which really sucks. I really ❤ the older facebook- Facebook 3.3.0 rather than the 3.3.1 (even if they just added the new function for getting "coupons" when you check-in, still not worth it.) According to the "public opinion," the new Facebook app "crashes," "lags," "missing the upload button," and so on... there's a whole list you can go through on your App Store- Facebook.

Anyways, enough with the chit-chat. I'm going to show you the way to revert back to your old beloved iphone facebook app--- that includes the "upload" button! Ta-Da!

(HOPEFULLY YOU GUYS CAN FOLLOW THIS-BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE! )
  1.  BACK UP-BACK UP-BACK UP your iPhone device!  (Right-Click your device)

  2. Do not update your Facebook app on your iTunes (important!)
  3. Always, and I saayyy always, update from your iphone app store FIRST. Just in case this happens, you've got a good back up on your iTunes.
  4. Delete your Facebook app on your iPhone device.
  5. Make sure your Facebook app on your iTunes is the older version 3.3.0- not the 3.3.1*.
  6. Plug in your iPhone, and let it sync.
  7. Don't forget to go to your Apps tab, when you click on your iPhone device on the left  menu. Check your Facebook app, so the older version can sync into the iPhone.
  8. Ta-Dah! You've got your older version of Facebook app on your iPhone now.

*If you somehow already updated the Fb app on your iTunes, you can find your Facebook app (older version) on your computer on your hard drive (within your iTunes folders in the form of .ipa ). Delete the new one, and keep the old one there- your iTunes should find it auto.

::What do you think of the new Facebook 3.3.1?  In my personal opinion, I don't like it. I hope they come out with a better version soon.

------disclaimer: I am not responsible for any thing that goes wrong if you fail to follow the directions. To prevent things from happening to your dear iPhone, please----please! back up before you do anything like this, okay?
